COVID-19 Vaccinations Required for U.S. Employees

CEO Josh Marks sent this letter to all employees on Friday, Oct. 22:

Dear Colleagues:

As we work together to meet ongoing pandemic challenges, our first priority never changes: to keep you safe. If you have already been vaccinated against COVID-19, thank you. If not, now is the time.

As you may know, US President Biden is implementing a national strategy to combat COVID-19 known as the “Path out of the Pandemic.” In connection with this plan, there are two new Federal mandates that Anuvu must follow. The first, Executive Order 14042, requires COVID-19 vaccinations for certain employees and contractors. The second, an anticipated OSHA Emergency Temporary Standard, mandates that employers with over 100 employees require their employees be (i) vaccinated against COVID-19 or (ii) undergo weekly testing. Below are brief descriptions of each, and what it means for Anuvu and for you as an Anuvu employee or contractor.

Executive Order 14042

Under this Executive Order, any employee or contractor working in the United States “on or in connection with” a US Government contract must be vaccinated. Anuvu refers to this category as “Tier 1”. In addition, employees or contractors who do not work on or in connection with a government contract, but go to an office or site where Tier 1 team members are present must also be vaccinated. Anuvu refers to this category as “Tier 2”. It is important to note that there is no weekly testing option for Tier 1 or Tier 2. However, employees may seek an exemption to the vaccination requirement for medical reasons or for deeply held religious beliefs.

To comply with the Executive Order, all US Tier 1 and Tier 2 Team Members must be fully vaccinated no later than December 8, 2021.

All U.S. employees will receive an email notice from people.services@anuvu.com with further information regarding their categorization as Tier 1, Tier 2, or neither Tier 1 nor Tier 2. Employees residing outside the U.S. will not receive a notification as the Executive Order only impacts you if you are traveling to the U.S. for business.

OSHA Emergency Temporary Standard

Under the anticipated OSHA Emergency Temporary Standard (ETS), companies with 100+ employees must require that their US-based employees either be vaccinated against COVID-19 or tested weekly. This requirement applies to all employees (including those not in Tier 1 or Tier 2) that may encounter another person on the job or outside of the workplace. It is expected that the OSHA ETS will be confirmed in October 2021 with an effective date in early December 2021.

These regulations may directly impact you, and I expect that you will have questions. Please refer to the links below to get to the COVID-19 Prevention Policy, FAQs, and the Accommodation Process. These documents are important for you to read and were prepared to provide guidance and expectations as we work together to comply with these US regulations.

Anuvu is committed to supporting vaccinations across its entire workforce. We will provide paid time off for you to receive the vaccinations and to recover from any vaccine side effects. Once you have your vaccination appointment, work with your manager to coordinate this time off. Although the actions I note above are driven by Federal mandates, we believe that getting vaccinated is not only the right thing to keep you safe, but it also supports our broader caring-for-our-community approach.

Should you have any questions that are not addressed in the Policy or FAQ, please contact any member of the People Services team, Zant Chapelo, your ELT member, or me directly.

Thank you for taking this matter seriously and for taking any necessary action to ensure Anuvu complies with these regulations.
