June 1 kicks off Pride month for many nations honoring acceptance and tolerance—and the LGBTQIA+ community’s continued struggles. Pride Month began in commemoration of the Stonewall protests in June 1969 in New York City, an event considered a turning point in the gay and lesbian community’s efforts for acceptance and to live openly.
To bring awareness to what Pride represents for so many we will:
- Highlight historical moments and turning points for equality
